BIOGRAPHIE

Rahis Bharti

DIRECTOR - DHOAD GYPSIES OF RAJASTHAN

Rahis Bharti, a renowned musician, visionary, and artistic director from Rajasthan, has devoted his life to preserving and promoting the rich folk music and dance traditions of Rajasthan on a global scale.

Born into a poor family of traditional musicians in Rajasthan, Bharti’s journey is one of resilience, determination, and an unshakable belief in his culture. With no support, no money, and only his passion for music, he left India for the first time with nothing but the rhythms of Rajasthan in his heart. He fought against all odds to bring Rajasthani music to the world stage, determined to make his homeland’s rich heritage known and respected globally.

Through years of struggle and relentless passion, Bharti has turned his vision into a success story, making Rajasthan’s folk music and dance celebrated across the world. Not only has he built an international career, but he has also changed the lives of hundreds of artists. Over the past 25 years, he has given opportunities to more than 700 local folk artists from small villages across Rajasthan, enabling them to perform with Dhoad on the world’s most prestigious stages. His work has uplifted communities, preserved disappearing traditions, and created life-changing opportunities for countless musicians, dancers, and performers.

For the past 25 years, Rahis Bharti and his Dhoad Gypsies of Rajasthan have become the only historic band from Rajasthan to tour non-stop for 6 to 7 months each year, performing in 119 countries with over 2,500 shows. His passion for cultural exchange has led him to introduce Indian folk music and dance to schools, universities, and cultural institutions worldwide, fostering a deeper global appreciation for India’s artistic legacy.

PORTUGUESE :

“DHOAD GYPSIES”

Apresenta: “TIME OF THE MAHARAJAS”

Sona ra Button Banna que comemora o nascimento de um príncipe;

Dhoad Gypsies From Rajasthan
